There are a lot of details that need to be run through during a home building project such as the amount of bedrooms, bathrooms, storage space, windows and the living space. All of which are essential to the success of the project. However, there are some critical details that some contractors overlook. In this blog, your semi custom home builder, Sadler Building Corporation, shares the three things they won’t overlook when working on your home.
Furniture Dimensions and Placement
After all, your furniture is an important part of your home, so we’ll do our best to factor in their dimension during the home building process. Some contractors overlook this detail and are taken off-guard after seeing the size of some tables that the homeowners have. Consequently, this would disrupt the flow of the plans and will call them back to the drawing board to factor in this step. We’ll make sure that your furniture is proportionate to the room size so that you can maximize its space while making it look appealing for the space.
While it’s SOP that power outlets are placed low on the wall, six feet apart, some remodeling contractors forget this detail. In our case, we’ll factor in the size of the room and its function as well. For kitchens, we’ll be using specialized outlets so that your kitchen appliances can be used with ease. For your living rooms, we’ll place the outlets at appropriate heights so that the wires won’t cause any accidental trips if they’re left hanging around. We’ll also make sure that the outlets are spaced out properly in a large space instead of them being all congested on one side, or being too close to one another.
Last but not least, we won’t forget the proper treatment for your windows. We’ll make sure that there is sufficient daylight entering your home that won’t cause enough glare to be bothersome for you and your family. We’ll also consider the window’s placement and apply the proper treatment to the appropriate windows. For instance, we’ll be using blinds or shades in kitchens to block out glare so that you can enjoy a delicious meal. For the living area, we’ll be using roman shades to allow natural light in without it being bothersome so you can maximize your home’s energy efficiency as well.
